Internet Marketing – Sell the sizzle, not the steak!

This theme has many expressions:
‘People buy benefits, not products’
and so on.
Randy Smith (UK) provides us with
a timely reminder on the topic:
You shouldn’t try to sell products to your
subscribers.People don’t like to be sold to.

But they do want to get the results
you are offering.

So instead of trying to sell a product,
instead you should sell the RESULT of
using that product.

Here’s an example:

Let’s say you create a course showing how
someone can create their own WordPress blog.

Within your training, you show them how to
set up WordPress on a certain web host.

You don’t say how good the host is and
why they need to use them.

You just create your training showing how
to use the host to set up the WordPress blog.

People who go through that training are now
more likely to just follow along and buy
the hosting because they need to follow
exactly what you are doing.

They are not being sold to. They are simply
buying the tools they need to get their RESULT.

Which is their own WordPress blog.

Remember this in every type of marketing
you ever do.

Don’t sell the product – Sell the result.
