IM Done for You System for Physical Goods? Is this for you?

Yesterday, I recommended checking out
the following done-for-you systems:

I stand by those recommendations for
beginners (‘newbies’).
IM Done for You System for Physical
Goods? Is this for you?
I suggest no, as physical goods have
many more risks than electronic goods.
Though many people make good money from
Ebay and Amazon, I am based in Moscow,
where their operations do not match
those in many countries.
So, for this and other reasons, I avoid
physical products.
So did most of my contacts,
until a new service received
a large amount of coverage from some of
them, about 6-9 months ago.
What about a done-for-you system of
buying books cheaply from US book
stores and selling them to Ebay/Amazon
in the US?
You rent the software, anywhere in the
world.
It will identify where you can
buy low and sell high (arbitrage), you
make the buy/sell transaction and they
will transport the books for you.
Risk-free profits! Nothing could
possibly go wrong, could it?
I left this great opportunity alone,
possibly missing out on earning a
fortune.
My reasoning:
Arbitrage (risk-free profit): I teach
it and it always disappears quickly.
You have to be fast in and leave before
the rest arrive. There is no mass
market for arbitrage.
Also, the software designer/seller has
a head start on you for the same
business (books).
Everybody was focused on the same
books sector – market saturation
– too many people
eating from one plate.
Even if everything is done for you, the
risk is yours.
If anything went wrong, I am 8-10 time
zones away, possibly asleep, and have
few US contacts who can help in such
operations.
The following comment appeared on
Warrior+Plus. I do not know whether
this was a typical experience (or even
true).
I report it as the possible risks that
you would face with such a
system.
The comment:
‘Yes, I bought the system. It takes WAY
too long to find a reasonably
profitable book – about three hours to
find two books with a profit of $25
each.
Most “profitable” trades returned were
$2-3 on a $200 book – not very good use
of my money.
Ordered the books, and set up the
trade.
Waited to print the shipping label so I
wouldn’t lose it.
Didn’t think this would be a problem.
First one took 11 days to get here –
Amazon gives you 7 days to
send in your trade.
So I went to my trade in account and
couldn’t print a shipping label.
When I re-checked on the book, the
trade in value had gone down so I
actually had a $35 loss on the book!
No mention of this possibility in the
course.
I will be requesting a refund but they
had some funky 365 day refund policy
implying they weren’t going to refund
anyone until they had tried the system
for 365 days.’
I provide this case study to suggest
that you fully understand how such
novel systems work before investing and
who is responsible for what.
Just because a service, especially one for
physical goods, is done-for-you does
not guarantee that it is risk-free and
trouble-free.
If you see Arbitrage and/or Risk-Free
Profits in a promotion, be skeptical,
very skeptical.
