Recent posts looked at the careers and

1998-2007. As the internet only started in 1993, they were pioneers of IM,
by today’s standards.
The changes in technology have been
very positive and have allowed a
technical ignoramus like me to operate,
mostly independently of outside help.
Whilst technology has improved, the
needs of marketing have increased.
Prospects have a wider choice and
have become more knowledgeable
about online purchases.
Whilst this is also positive overall,
it means more marketing effort
and cost in the market places.
Our experts all became proficient
programmers, except Devon Brown
who partnered a programmer.
The recent arrival of WordPress
as the website manager enables
anyone who can upload their
cv (resume) to a site to be able
to run a website, with comforting
‘drag and drop’ level features.
The majority of today’s IM folks
are newbies and most products’
technical requirements are geared
to them. Support is readily
available from the vendor, though
it may be outsourced.
The rise in internet traffic has
brought prices down through
more competition.
This applies to hosting our websites
and using autoresponders to house
our contact lists.
Wifi is better and more available, if
you are in the right place. Mobile
phone signals and service also
depend on place, but are
generally better than before.
