One route is to subcontract the job to
one of the many who could do the work. This has a cost, of course.
John Thornhill’s major criticism of
subcontracting is that it teaches you nothing. If you want to generate money from
IM for the foreseeable future, you will need to do some writing. Can anybody do it? Yes, there are US
courses that teach you to write a best selling book.
These courses cost about $2,000 and
have many success stories of newbies achieving stunning results.
I used to write reports on UK companies
in different industries. Each report was updated
every year. My first report was on hotels.
I took two weeks to write it and based
it on the previous year’s report (written by another writer).
My brilliant editor, a young lady of 26,
took away the previous report and
told me to write mine again.
She was absolutely right and I
developed my own style. I produced 212 reports over several
years. I had to research many industries that
were totally new to me and then write with authority. Once I was organised, production time
fell and I produced 2 reports in one day. My boss insisted that I included the
bookkeeping for every step. It is still a major strength of the books.
The production time fell to 2 days per
book as the series was built. Both series of publications were
produced in a standard format, but yours can be too.
It makes them recognisable as your
work. You will build your expertise in a
range of topics that may be unknown to you now. Yes, you can do it!
What if you would like your own
products, but would like a finished model to update,
adapt and sell under your own name? This is a way forward for newbies.
