You can buy the rights to other
people’s material, known in the trade as ‘PLR’. Why would product creators sell
the rights to their own products? I have wondered about this myself.
A large number of buyers do not
resell the product, even though they have bought the rights to the product they do nothing. I confess to having a hard disk
(or two!)
full of products for which I have bought the PLR rights that I have yet to market. Many have been bought as a
package deal of PLR products. Most active IM colleagues will
admit to the same (having PLR with which they have
done nothing. Therefore,
it is free income to the sellers. The sellers will launch
their products,
selling PLR rights with the sale. They are quicker on the market
with their products than we can be, so are likely to make more sales. Also, their launches may have more
promotion than ours, though there is nothing to stop us building superior promotion for our products. The sellers’ time advantage will
increase if we decide to change the product, with a new name, re-writes and different graphics. If the seller has a better
IM reputation than us, the seller’s product will be more attractive. So where is our profit?
There are millions of buyers and
if we have done our research, we should be able to find our clients. The market is big enough for us all!
The profitable use of PLR is covered
