Looking at the experts that
I follow in IM, they had a lot
in common, even before
they knew each other.
They started in IM from
1998 to 2005
and took 2-4 years until they were able
to have a profitable business.
All now are multimillionaires.
We have briefly looked at the careers
of 5 of the IM experts that I follow in developing my business:
John Thornhill, Michael Cheney,
Dean Holland, Omar Martin and Devon Brown. (Some of their
best webinars and videos
are below.)
They all faced serious financial
problems at a time that their day jobs were becoming increasingly
unsatisfactory. They had their faith in IM seriously
challenged as they labored long hours before the rewards were secured. So, is the only way to IM
success to have a dead-end
job, be in $60.000 of debt,
wait 2-3 years to see you first online sale, leave your
business on autopilot almost
losing it, before fighting
back to rebuild it?
Fortunately not.
The last decade has seen
the market for IM sales grow
dramatically as internet
purchases have become better
accepted throughout most of the world. Different marketplaces have developed.
JVZoo and Warriorplus+ have been created to compete with Clickbank, helping vendors find affiliates (agents) and vice versa. As John replied to the question:
‘What guaranteed JVZoo’s success?’
Two words – instant commissions.
Affiliates no longer had to wait 30-60
days to receive their income, if the vendor decided to pay now. The last decade has seen an explosion
of physical goods being sold on Ebay and Amazon, plus the rise of Alibaba. Many of those trading in physical goods
have expanded into information products, bringing their talents and marketing advances.
For me, the major improvements have
been to user-friendly technology. I remember, in 2003, helping design
our first IFRS website for our Russian
project.
We brought in the experts, the job took
about a month and was expensive. We
could make few changes to it without the experts. Today, creating your own site is not
much more complex than loading a cv (resume) onto social media.
There is free and cheap advice
everywhere to take you to the next step and the step after that.
These improvements on their own
do not give you a
profitable business on a plate. I will return to the disciplines needed
in a future post.
