As we come to 2018, we are
swamped with investment
opportunities, the good,
the bad and Bitcoin.
My day job allows me to
teach and see
the progress of those
lucky enough to attend
university in Moscow and
build up knowledge to
provide better opportunities
in the future.
I am very lucky to love my job
and to provide for my dear family.
My parents pushed me towards
better education than they were
able to have for themselves.
This opened doors in my career
that otherwise would have
remained closed.
Many of my employers paid for
further education, academic and
professional. I have always taken
every learning opportunity.
Although I have made
many investments,
the investments
in me have provided
the best returns.
Many did not pay off for a few years,
but they moved my career forwards
and upwards.
You have to look after yourself,
as state pensions and other support
are disappearing fast in most
countries.
Home ownership is becoming a rarity
in the UK, whereas before
it was achievable by most.
Every week, I see articles about
job losses coming from more automation.
I teach different financial syllabuses,
aware that my students will face
challenges that I cannot anticipate.
I teach them to learn how to learn,
so that they can adapt, just as
I have had to adapt to
Microsoft, Google, Facebook
and Amazon.
I have used my learning skills
to start my IM business, despite
my technological ignorance.
How can you build your own
personal brand – you?
Continuous learning, whether
formal, or informal education
is the path for us all.
We need to constantly develop
new skills
to anticipate and adapt to change.
The average person has seen their
living standards decline over the
last two decades, in most countries.
It takes time and money to invest
in yourself. Many average people,
that you know, will not do so, and
you may be alone in your learning.
Action takers will be winners and
that action is to invest in you!
