I received a letter from Asia with
the sad news that somebody with
my surname
(family name – Joyce)
had died in a car crash in 2012.
He had left $ millions in the form of
a certificate of deposit (CD).
I could inherit it, as his wife and
children were
killed in the crash, if I shared the
money with the writer.
Why am I relaxed about this?
In the last 18 months, I have
learned of the deaths of at
least 3 men named Joyce,
2 in a car crash,
one in a plane crash.
In each case, their wives and
(probably adult) children
were killed.
They all had $ millions in
a local bank, with no mention
of interest.
The first one was in Benin (next
to Nigeria). I followed it up (yes,
I would be happy to receive a
few $ million for nothing).
I have an empty $ bank account
and sent details of it. I did not
provide my main account details,
to risk having my money taken.
It was a very emotional experience.
(Not the death: I did not know him.)
I kept hoping that the money
would come, as it would change
the lives of my family. My
optimism and pessimism
changed often.
The first request for money was
for $16,000 for registration.
Later requests included
money for a courier –
a quick Google search
confirmed the courier was known
for mostly scamming
transactions.
The amounts requested varied,
as did the reason why neither
my fund, nor my partner could
pay.
To date:
no money paid, nor received.
My parents and known family
were/is modest, so to find a
group of dead,
millionaire Joyces, who died
with their wives and children
in car and plane crashes,
having left $ millions
in local banks,
was a big surprise to me.
My good friend, Inna, who lives in
Central Siberia,
has not been forgotten by such
rich donors. She has been promised
$800,000 from Togo (Africa).
She is disappointed that it is not as
much as from the dead Joyces,
but she has to start modestly!
Conclusion
When you receive such a letter
and hope that it is genuine,
reply that you will not
send any money,
for any reason,
now or in the future.
90% of these writers will stop
when they read this.
Tell them, take the money for any cost
from the fund, or its earned interest.
Insist on using bank transfers, not
couriers, to avoid sending money. Any request for money: reply that they
should take it from the money held by you. !!!Do NOT send money!!!!!
If you decide to provide a bank
account, provide an empty account so that your main account cannot be emptied by others. Such offers of money for nothing will
result in: 1. You receiving No money at all. 2. You losing any money you send. 3. Money being taken from any bank
account that you identify. Keep your money!
